Psychotherapy

What is Psychotherapy?

In Ontario, Psychotherapy is a controlled act, which means it can only be performed by a qualified professional to ensure client safety. Psychotherapy is one of the 14 controlled acts outlined in The Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, which outlines 14 controlled acts that are inherently risky. The controlled act of psychotherapy is one of these legally restricted acts.

It is defined as:

Treating, by means of psychotherapy technique, delivered through a therapeutic relationship, an individual’s serious disorder of thought, cognition, mood, emotional regulation, perception or memory that may seriously impair the individual’s judgement, insight, behaviour, communication or social functioning.

Career Counselling

What do you want to be when you grow up? The average person changes careers at least twice in their lifetime. Perhaps an injury, divorce, or just boredom is making you question your career path. Or perhaps, you’re a high school student and don’t know what you want to do after graduation. A vocational assessment will assist in identifying current strengths, areas you can improve upon, and list of potential job options in line with your interests. You may also wish to consider a labour market survey to explore current job trends, the future of a potential job and retraining programs.

Serving clients across Brampton, Mississauga, Milton, Bolton, Oakville, Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area.
